We've migrated to SQL 2019, wo we upgraded our SQL managing systems to SSMS 18.4.
When we attempted to open more than one object in the security folder at a time, and work in them, the SSMS system will sporadically crash and restart.
Its not leaving any error or event logs that we can see (in the main application and system logs).
In the forums we found this to be systemic with people saying they reverted all the way back to 17.9.1, which we tried, but the same issue is applying.
I want to ask if there are settings in SQL Server itself we need to make to help SSMS run smoother, but there were too many threads stating people having the same issue, with no answer.
I'm throwing this out there in the hopes someone has an idea that may or may not work, cause at this point we're unable to manage our DB's without it taking a looooooooonnnng time.
I wasn't going to leave this thread, but now we realize we can't edit records in SSMS either because SSMS below 18 isn't compatible with SQL 2019. We get the error that
This backend version is not supported to design database diagrams or tables. (MS Visual Database Tools).
Any help would be appreciated.
