I am currently attempting to install a DOD pfx certificate on a SQL Server 2014/Windows Server 2012, clustered machine. I have installed the instance cert, that is the fully qualified DNS Cluster name. In this case is the name of the instance followed
my the address. When I installed the cert, I installed on Node A then Node B under the SQL Server Service account the SQL Server Services logs on with. I have also taken this a step further and granted full control on the certs private key to the
service account just to overly prove it has sufficient permissions. After installing the DOD pfx cert on the both nodes, I bounced the instance then went to force encryption in the SQL Server 2014 Configuration Manager, I clicked force encryption, yes then
bounced instance to take effect then clicked on the certificate tab in the SQL Server 2014 Configuration Manager and used the drop down menu to select the certificate and no certificate is located there. I have went through MMC with the local computer while
logged on as the service account. I really need help as I am a SQL DBA and I cannot figure this one out why it's not showing up in the config manager....
